APC Policy
Article Processing Charges Policy for International Journal of Emerging Technologies and Advanced Applications
The International Journal of Emerging Technologies and Advanced Applications (IJETAA) is an open access journal that adheres to the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. To maintain the high quality of its published articles and to cover the costs associated with the publication process, IJETAA charges Article Processing Charges (APCs) for accepted manuscripts.
APC Structure:
The APC for an accepted manuscript from academic, government, or non-profit institutions (USD 500) or from commercial organizations (USD 1,000) or its equivalent in other currencies. While this fee only partially covers operating costs, it is a critical component of a financially sustainable business model—one that allows us to pay our staff living wages, to invest in improvements to the journal. The exact APC for each manuscript will be determined based on factors such as the length of the article, the complexity of the formatting and layout requirements, and any additional services requested by the author(s).
Note that some funding agencies and institutions will cover the APCs on behalf of their investigators. Authors who cannot afford the publication charges are encouraged to request a fee waiver.
For authors in China, we have domestic agents available who can provide official invoices for your convenience. For more details, please email us.
Waiver Policy:
IJETAA understands that some authors may have limited funding or financial constraints that make it difficult to pay the full APC. In such cases, authors may apply for a waiver or reduction of the APC. The following waiver options are available:
1. Full Waiver: In exceptional circumstances, IJETAA may grant a full waiver of the APC. To be eligible for a full waiver, authors must demonstrate that they have exhausted all other funding options and that paying the APC would cause significant financial hardship.
2. Partial Waiver: Authors who are unable to pay the full APC but can contribute a portion of the fee may apply for a partial waiver. The percentage of the waiver granted will be determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the author's financial situation and the availability of funds.
To apply for a waiver, authors must submit a formal request to the editorial office at the time of manuscript submission. The request should include a detailed explanation of the financial constraints and any supporting documentation. The decision to grant a waiver will be made by the editor-in-chief in consultation with the editorial board.
Payment Process:
If a manuscript is accepted for publication, the corresponding author will receive an invoice for the APC. Payment can be made via credit card, bank transfer, or other methods as specified in the invoice. The article will be published only after the APC has been received.
In cases where a waiver has been granted, the article will be published without delay, and the author(s) will not be required to pay the APC.
By implementing this APC policy, IJETAA aims to maintain the sustainability of its open access model while ensuring that financial constraints do not pose a barrier to the publication of high-quality research.
