Retraction Policy
The International Journal of Emerging Technologies and Advanced Applications (IJETAA) follows the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for article retractions. We are committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record and will retract published articles when necessary.
Grounds for Retraction
Articles may be retracted in the following circumstances:
1. Research Misconduct
• Fabrication or falsification of data or results
• Plagiarism or substantial overlap with published work
• Duplicate publication (same research published elsewhere)
• Undisclosed conflicts of interest that affected the research
• Ethical violations in research conduct
2. Honest Error
• Major errors in methodology that invalidate the findings
• Errors in data analysis or interpretation that fundamentally change the conclusions
• Misidentification of materials, organisms, or other research subjects
• Technical errors that cannot be corrected through a corrigendum
3. Ethical Issues
• Lack of proper ethical approval for human or animal research
• Failure to obtain informed consent where required
• Breach of confidentiality or privacy
• Use of materials without proper authorization
4. Authorship Issues
• Inclusion of authors who did not contribute significantly
• Exclusion of individuals who made substantial contributions
• Failure to obtain consent from all listed authors
Retraction Process
1. Identification Concerns may be raised by:
• Readers or researchers
• Authors themselves
• Editorial board members
• Institutional investigations
• Post-publication peer review
2. Investigation
• The Editor-in-Chief will promptly investigate all allegations
• Authors will be given an opportunity to respond
• Relevant institutions may be contacted
• Expert opinions may be sought when necessary
3. Decision
• The Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the editorial board, will make the final decision
• Decisions will be based on COPE guidelines and evidence presented
• The decision and rationale will be documented
4. Implementation
• Retracted articles are clearly marked as "RETRACTED" on the article page
• A retraction notice is published explaining the reason
• The original article remains accessible with the retraction notice prominently displayed
• The DOI is retained and continues to resolve to the retracted article with the notice
• Retraction notices are indexed and searchable
• CrossRef and other indexing services are notified
Retraction Notice Content
All retraction notices include:
- Title of the retracted article
- Author names
- Reason for retraction (detailed explanation)

Alternatives to Retraction
In some cases, alternatives to full retraction may be appropriate:
- Correction/Erratum: For minor errors that do not affect the main conclusions
- Expression of Concern: When evidence is inconclusive but concerns exist
- Editorial Note: For clarifications or updates that don't warrant correction
Author Responsibilities
Authors should:
- Report any significant errors discovered after publication
- Cooperate fully with investigations
- Respond promptly to inquiries from the editorial office
- Notify the journal if an article is being investigated by their institution
Prevention Measures
IJETAA employs several measures to prevent the need for retractions:
- Rigorous double-blind peer review
- Plagiarism detection software for all submissions
- Ethical compliance verification
- Clear authorship contribution requirements
- Data availability policies
- Conflict of interest disclosure requirements
